Blogs, Blogging, Bloggers

You may have heard the terms but not know what they are, who does it or why. Simply put, a blog is an online journal or way of sharing information that is updated frequently. Blogs consist of anything you want.

They can be used a whole lot of ways on a personal level:
  • People use them to share photos and events with the whole family, both close and extended, at once.
  • They can be used to share recipes, knitting patterns or anything of the like.
  • They can be used to simply vent and share knowledge about a particular subject or your life in general.
  • They can also be used to make a living or make side money. I follow a blog called "Nourishing Minimalism" and the woman who runs it fully admits it is how she supports her family. By endorsing products and ad revenue.

They can also be used many ways on a professional level:

  • Companies can use them internally to keep employees updated with upcoming events or policy changes.
  • They can use them externally to communicate with customers and keep them updated with the latest products, services or developments.
Blogs have infinite uses because they are really just so flexible and you can make them into anything you want them to be. I personally have made a blog in the past to share knitting patterns of my own creation. If you would like to see it, it is here, although the photos do not work anymore from inactivity for years, my blog and patterns are still there.

The fall semester for me has been a struggle because I have been job hunting and stressed about my financial issues so I am constantly feeling pulled in a thousand directions. I am gaining though, I am gaining!! I'm also happy to report that I finally landed the perfect position for me at a consulting firm this week and I start on Monday!
